CEProud is a League of Women Voters of Connecticut initiative to raise awareness for the state’s Citizens’ Election Program. The voluntary program, administered by the nonpartisan State Elections Enforcement Commission, promotes clean elections and limits the role of big money in state politics by granting public financing to candidates running for statewide offices and the General Assembly.

CEP saved from the END
Those who wanted to kill Connecticut’s independent, publicly-funded (not by taxes), clean, election-to-state-offices program succeeded in killing the independence of CEP in the CT senate in a vote on 6/4/19.
Voters across Connecticut got in touch with their representatives
in support of the current formulation of our Citizens’ Election Program.
Result: The proposed bill was not even called for a vote by our House of Representatives on 6/5/19!
THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH
for contacting your representatives.
