CEProud is a League of Women Voters of Connecticut initiative to raise awareness for the state’s Citizens’ Election Program. The voluntary program, administered by the nonpartisan State Elections Enforcement Commission, promotes clean elections and limits the role of big money in state politics by granting public financing to candidates running for statewide offices and the General Assembly.

(How many supporters in your town?)
The Connecticut House and Senate passed a state budget Sept. 15/16 that eliminated the Citizens’ Election Program.
Gov. Malloy vetoed this budget Sept. 28.
We now wait.
While our House and Senate are reworking the budget, call/email your state Senator and Representative and stress that CEP is of great value, because it gives us legislators who owe nothing to special interests. Remind them also that CEP funds come from the sale of unclaimed property in the state (physical as well as stocks, bonds, etc.), not our taxes.
