CEProud is a League of Women Voters of Connecticut initiative to raise awareness for the state’s Citizens’ Election Program. The voluntary program, administered by the nonpartisan State Elections Enforcement Commission, promotes clean elections and limits the role of big money in state politics by granting public financing to candidates running for statewide offices and the General Assembly.

The Citizens’ Election Program was eliminated
from the Connecticut state budget.
But the Connecticut Legislature had to prepare a second budget.
This time, CEP was back in.
The Citizens’ Election Program is safe until June 30, 2019.
Our work on raising awareness about CEP continues,
because those who wanted to get rid of Connecticut’s
publicly-funded state election program
will try again.
Tell us how best to raise awareness in your town about the
Citizens’ Election Program. We need your advice.
